The brand Atelier001 was founded with the ambition to create a collection of objects made in individual Ateliers, each and every one unique = 001. The collection celebrates artisanship and the uniqueness of handmade finishes. Each light sculpture is individually made in carefully selected ateliers, supporting craft, authentic materials and hand-making individuals. We encourage our audience to welcome and embrace the character within each object, its variations, and small imperfections.

Born and raised in Munich, Eva Menz came to London to study at Central St Martins College. Upon completion she exhibited her first sculptural pieces at the ICFF show in New York, and subsequently set up the Atelier001. Drawn to the aspects of both design and art, Menz sees herself nestled in between the two genres. Her artworks are known for emulating the concept of a chandelier, occupying the focal space in a room, while being awe inspiring, compelling, stirring and ever-expanding in scale and complexity.

Atelier001 operates from a small studio and showroom in Notting Hill, London. From there our team coordinates a myriad of technicians, ateliers, production sites and contributors. Every single piece in our collection is finished and assembled by hand. We pride ourselves in strong and cherished relationships with our makers, almost all with an impressive several decades of experience. When engaging with our collection you are sure to support and perpetuate incredible individuals and their skills.

Our Creative Director and initiator of the Atelier001 collection is Eva Menz, an international illumination artist and sculptor. Her aim was to make exquisite lighting objects more accessible to a larger audience. Also, to support an incredible network of unique makers in what are often dying trades. With upcoming collections, Menz will be collaborating with other designers and talent from various fields. The aim is to build an expanding network of creatives and makers coming together and making unique objects available for homes and spaces.
